Error codes of obd DTC are often followed by CEL or Check Engine Light. Sometimes the reasons for these error codes are flimsy, like a non-performing sensor. Deleting these DTC error codes forever (not just clearing them with a scan tool) takes your eyes off the distraction. At times these non-consequential codes can lead to a drastic drop of your car’s value.
Example: SAI pumps fail often, have zero-usage in our climate and will wipe off thousands of dollar off your car’s value or cost several thousands to rectify. Deleting the SAI pump and associated codes gets rid of these hassles. Similarly codes can relate to Water pump, crank position sensor, valve sensor, timing chain sensor, thermostat, radiator coolant level sensor, oil pump sensor, oil pressure sensor, knock sensor, MAF sensor, O2 sensor, CAT sensors, MAP sensor, throttle body sensors, turbo sensors, exhaust gas temperature sensors…. the list goes on
